Ice Cream and Nature

Last week we took the whole second grade on a field trip to the city library, a musical theater, a bank, and then we went to a Blue Bunny ice cream store where we made our own waffle cones.  Afterwards we ate lunch at a nearby park.  It was a great day.

This week a my students were working on their memory books. One of the pages asks that the children tell their favorite field trip then illustrate a picture.  One girl said her favorite field trip was the ice cream store. She drew a big picture and labeled it "Blue Bummy"

Today I was at my sister's house, and we were talking on the driveway.  Two birds dropped down from the huge tree in her front yard nearly in front of us.  They were mating and really getting into it. Nothing like birds sexing each other to freak one out, especially when they were so close we could have spit on them.  Geez, get a nest next time.
